Roundhouse in Vancouver is opening tentatively for courses within a COVID safe protocol. We will be offering 3 wood turning courses between April and June.
This course focusses on the basics of woodworking and wood turning. There are two learning objectives to the course namely, to introduce the basics of milling rough lumber into usable flat boards or parts and the basics of wood turning. Beginning with an introduction to the Jointer, Planer and Table saw you will prepare a platter blank of hardwood to be later turned into a platter or dish on a wood turning lathe using chisels held by hand. I addition to the platter you will turn a spindle such as a honey dipper, fish bonker or rolling pin. See example pics below
For those who prefer to use their own face shield be sure to purchase in advance of the course starting. The current face shields will cleaned and disinfected after use.
